Chao is a research scientist in the Technology Integration (TechInt) Group in the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research topics include Parallel I/O, Storage Systems and Multicore Architectures; Distributed Computing/File System/Data Management; and HPC Resilience/Fault Tolerance. His current work is with both Lustre and GPFS.
