Roland Laifer holds a degree in technical mathematics from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. He is working at the Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Roland has administrated various distributed systems, e.g. name services, time services, security services, and file systems. Currently, he is mainly responsible for several Lustre production systems with several Petabytes capacity.
